Problem
Guildhall, the historic seat of the City of London Corporation, was facing serious issues from red rust inside its aging steel pipe system. Water discoloration and high iron content were threatening both water quality and the preservation of this heritage building. Full pipe replacement was considered, however, the cost and disruption would have been immense.
Pipetector Installation
Pipetector units were installed directly onto the existing steel pipework, without cutting or shutting off the water supply. The process was quick, non-invasive, and required no chemical treatment.
Results
Within weeks of installation, iron concentrations in the water supply decreased sharply.
Discolored water cleared, and the supply was restored to a clean condition.
